![]() Madison River
One of the most famous trout fishing rivers in the world, the Madison begins in Yellowstone at the confluence of the Firehole and Gibbon rivers. It carves a rugged canyon just west of the park, punches through a natural rock dam created by a 1959 earthquake, then turns north through a broad valley famed for its large brown and rainbow trout. The Madison powers through Bear Trap Canyon north of Ennis before embarking on a meandering journey to a confluence with the Jefferson and Gallatin rivers. |
