Join the Greater Yellowstone Coalition and Emmy-nominated journalist and filmmaker Kris Millgate for a free exclusive screening of On Grizzly Ground and Q&A with a panel on grizzly bears on Thursday, April 4 in Victor, Idaho.

For a species once on the brink of extinction, the grizzly bear recovery saga is a success story for the ages. It took years of persistent work—and millions of dollars—from many organizations, agencies, and wildlife advocates to restore this important species in Greater Yellowstone. With grizzlies no longer in imminent threat of collapse, the focus now lies on longevity and stability.

On Grizzly Ground features Millgate’s journey to document the remarkable Greater Yellowstone grizzly bear. The short film explores the expansion of bears in recent years and how people are both their greatest threat and greatest opportunity for long-term conservation.

After the film, stick around for a panel discussion and ask the experts about grizzly bear conservation. Panelists include:

  • Kathy Rinaldi, Deputy Director of Conservation (Greater Yellowstone Coalition)

  • Matt Pieron, Regional Supervisor (Idaho Fish and Game)

  • Curtis Hendricks, Regional Wildlife Manager (Idaho Fish and Game)

  • Dan Tyers, Wildlife Biologist (U.S. Forest Service)

  • Moderator – Kris Millgate

We hope to see you there!
